The 2009 Cyclocross season offically begins this weekend. Yes it does seem like cyclocross season starts earlier every year, but it appears everyone is ready.

The Kansas Cycling Association's Women's Development Fund promotes women's competitive cycling through sponsorship of area women's races and activities.  The De Stad Cyclocross Van Kansas Series is proud to announce that the KCA will sponsor the Women’s Cat 4 Beginner class for 2009.

“We very excited about this great opportunity for our series and for women’s cycling” says series director Chris Locke.  This sponsorship will reduce the Women’s Cat 4 Beginner class entry fee down to $10.00.  Last year this same program was a great success and helped more than double the amount of women entries.

As we approach the start of the 2009 Cyclocross Season, it may be time for some of you to think about upgrading.  Jeff Bishop of the Kansas Cycling Association put together a document on CX Upgrades. Please check it out and request your upgrade if you qualify. It is very easy to do.  Just visit http://www.usacycling.org, click on My USA Cycling and after signing in Request an Upgrade.
